With sulfydryl functional groups, it has special effect served as rust inhibitor for metal surface; and can enhance the corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and adhesion between the metal surfaces and macromolecules (such as resin) while acting on the surface of gold, silver, copper and other metals especially as a cleaning agent in Power PCB improving the impact strength and heat resistance.

It is often used to treat white carbon black, carbon black, glass fiber, mica and other inorganic fillers in rubber industry, which can effectively improve the mechanical properties and wear resistance of rubber.

It can be also used for fabric preshrunk finish in spinning industry.
